A few observations about the power chain. It traps more food and requires more brushing. Flossing is also more challenging.
The rubber bands are really a breeze to wear now and my teeth are not as sensitive as a week ago. The back teeth are the most painful and there's no getting around it with eating. :(
Anyway, I had a few questions from Regis in France! He wanted to know what my back teeth looked like and if I had cavities. So I've included some before and after pics of the back teeth. The pictures aren't that great because it's really hard to take pictures from that angle. Also, I had two small cavities filled before I got my braces. I decided to answer in French using Google Translate. I hope it's right and doesn't say something crazy! Google, don't fail me now. Je n'ai pas de cavités. J'ai eu deux une petite remplis plus tôt cette année. Je vous remercie pour vos aimables paroles au sujet de mon sourire.Voici quelques photos de mes dents du fond.
There are some dark blue spots in the back. It's actually a glue that Dr. Johnson put on to help with the bite. He has since removed most of it and the rest will gradually wear away over time.
Wow, what a difference! I'm ecstatic with the results so far. 10 months to go!
Since the new wire, power chain, and bands I've noticed my bite is very different and doesn't feel natural. It literally feels like it has been repositioned! Interesting. This will take some getting use to.
